Roman Travertine, is a calcareous stone, resulting from the action of not salad water. It is beige coloured and banded as a result of the presence of iron compounds or organic impurities. Roman Travertine is porous with numerous voids
It is mined in Italy, and it’s imported the first range only.
USE
Its suitable mainly for indoor flooring and cladding. In outdoor areas only for cladding small areas (shops, lower floors) or in antique finish.
SHAPES
Roman Travertine is produced in slabs 2 & 3 cm for transformation in stairs, cut to size pieces.. and in standard sizes 60x60x2 cm (less used), 60x40x2 cm, 60x30x2 cm, 40x30x2 cm.
FINISHES
The stone can be sorted different finishes, rough, honed, polished, brushed. The most important is the finish of the open pores: Open pore, pore covered with coloured resin, pore covered with transparent resin. Also can be cut in cross cut (that produces its warm beige parallel bands) or vein cut (that produces waves of tones of colour)
